Colonial Acres Beach - West Yarmouth

This is our local beach at the end of Standish Way in West Yarmouth.  What makes it great?  Convenience. Walk to it and  it also has free parking for 14 cars.  The kids can do some crabbing off the scenic boardwalk, or fish in the channel over to the right.  Lots of boats, ferries and sailboat to watch.  This is a protected bay which means the water is  shallower and warmer water.
The Beach itself is about 900 feet long.  There is a bike rack in the parking lot and a portaporty  during the Summer months.

Seagull Beach - West Yarmouth

Seagull Beach is the main beachin the town of Yarmouth.  This is the beach to go to if you want some wave action and like to people watch.  They have a large parking lot, and charge $15 per car for parking in the Summer.  The beach has a large snack bar with picnic tables and rest rooms,  and showers to wash off the sand.  Lifeguard patrolled.  There is  a rock jetty at the far eastern end.  It has a handicapped accessible boardwalk.

Mayflower Beach - Dennis

Mayflower Beach in Dennis has a large parking lot and is very popular,  which means go early or you might not get in.  This video looks like it was done at high tide-less sand to sit on so a bit more crowded.  At low tide the water goes way out, and you will feel like you have acres of sand and tide pools to play in.  Parking is$20.  Sunsets are great, and they stop charging for parking late afternoon, so that’s a great time to go as well. There is a large and good snack bar, restrooms, and showers to wash off the sand.  The sand is soft and the water a bit colder as it is on the North side of the Cape, the Cape Cod Bay side.  Lifeguard patrolled.  They do check coolers for alcohol and the beach has monitors.

The Town of Yarmouth MA has at least 9 beaches of various sizes and a kettle pond or two where your dog can swim. Visit our Beach Guide to find out more about all Cape Cod Beaches.
